Iris Blue Celebrancy

I'm happily married to Gareth, my husband, my rock, my calm in a storm.
We said our ‘I do’s’ 24 years ago in Las Vegas married by Elvis!
Together we have two wonderful adult children, Archie and Eliza, along with our forever baby, Isobel.
Living in the city of Newport in South East Wales, I cherish walks with my dogs, discovering new places, reading, planning, creating, lunches with my bestie, pina coladas and anything to do with Robbie Williams!

I am at my happiest on the beach, listening to the waves, feeling the sand beneath my feet and the warmth of the sun on my face. After 30 years of teaching in local primary schools, I decided it was time to follow my heart and step into the world of Celebrancy. In the summer of 2024, I embarked on my training with The Academy of Modern Celebrancy, taking the leap into a new and exciting chapter of my life.

You may be wondering why I chose the name Iris Blue for my Celebrancy service.
As with most things I do there's always a story to tell.
I have always loved the colour Blue.
It is a symbol of hope, healing, calmness and serenity. It symbolises many traits of my personality including honesty, reliability, loyalty and putting others first.
The iris is the flower of my birth month, February. The blue iris especially represents faith, hope and positivity.
It represents a dream brought to life.
It also links with the Goddess Iris who used a rainbow bridge to cross from heaven to earth to take messages to the gods.
Planting iris flowers on women’s graves became popular among the ancient Greeks, who believed it would persuade the Goddess to guide their loved ones across the rainbow bridge to paradise.

So Iris Blue Celebrancy was born !
